Alice’s Adventures under Water
“Alice’s Adventures under Water” is my first book of fiction. I wanted to write a sequel to Lewis Carroll’s ‘Alice’ books entirely in his writing style, including puns, poems, and hidden references. The book also contains 42 illustrations in the style of the original illustrator, John Tenniel, by Robert Louis Black.
I self-published the book entirely. Not only did I write the text, but I also designed the cover, laid out the interior, and so on.

Fotografie, romantiek en zoete wraak
“Fotografie, romantiek en zoete wraak – vier verhalen” (“Photography, romance, and sweet revenge – four stories”) is an anniversary publication by the Dutch Lewis Carroll Society. It contains translations of four short stories by Lewis Carroll: “Photography Extraordinary”, “A Photographer’s Day Out”, “Novelty and Romancement. A Broken Spell”, and “Bruno’s Revenge”. Three of the four stories had not previously been translated into Dutch. With this publication, the Society hopes to raise awareness and appreciation of Lewis Carroll as a versatile author.
I translated the story “Novelty and Romancement: A Broken Spell” (to “Verleiding en voorspoed. Een verbroken betovering”), provided feedback to my co-authors, handled the final editing of all texts, and contributed to the layout of the interior pages.

Alice in a World of Wonderlands
“Alice in a World of Wonderlands: The Translations of Lewis Carroll’s Masterpiece” is a book consisting of 3 volumes, to which I contributed. Volume 3 concerns a bibliography of all translations of “Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland” and “Through the Looking-Glass and what Alice found there” that were published all over the world. Volume 1 contains essays about the difficulty translators experienced when translating the book to their own language, volume 2 contains ‘back translations’ of a passage from a chapter of the translated text to English, to determine how much or little of the original text was retained in the translation.
My contribution was the essay about Dutch translations, and a back translation of a Dutch passage.

The idea and initiative for creating this follow-up publication came from me. My contribution consisted of cataloging all editions in non-English speaking countries, plus an article.

“How to fly your drone. Composities en andere deunen ter ere van veertig jaar Stichting Draailier & Doedelzak” is a jubilee publication by the Dutch hurdy gurdy & bagpipe foundation. The booklet contains sheet music for tunes composed especially for the anniversary, several frequently played session tunes, and tunes contributed by people associated with the foundation.
I handled the editing and layout of the interior. Furthermore, the booklet contains the sheet music for a song written by me: the ‘Cisthematische Scottish’.

“Record now: haal rendement uit recordsmanagement!” contains essays from several authors, including mine, about the subject of records management – meaning the archiving of documents in (government) organisations.
I gave advice about procedures for selection, deletion, and transfer of documents when they have been digitised, with tips for organisations with a digital archive that have to adhere to governmental regulations.
