I already made myself a medieval open hood, but I wanted one with buttons as well. That way, you don’t have to pin it to your head to make it stay on during windy weather, or when you’re very active. And it protects your neck much better from cold.
I still had a piece of nice orange wool lying in my cupboard, that I had bought at the fabric market some time ago. The light brown wool I used as lining is thinner than the lining fabric I used for my buttonless open hood, making this one look more subtle.

All visible seams are sewn by hand. I also hand-made the buttons.
I like how the long, small liripipe hangs down my back!

Time spent: 11 hours (of which 4,5 hours were spent making the buttons and button holes)
Costs: €3,50 (for the wool, of which I still have half the amount left)
