At a LARP event I was playing as an NPC, I had to portray a Blood elf. I had nothing suitable in my closet for the role, so I sewed myself a quick dress.
In our setting, the players who play Blood elves don’t wear a lot of clothes. Everything is short and skimpy. Most choose purple and black as their main colors. So I decided to align my dress with that standard.
As I would be wearing the dress for one event only, I didn’t want to spend a lot of time and money on it though. So I bought two cheap pieces of panne velvet fabric and a velvet ribbon, and sewed this short stretchy dress with butterfly sleeves (which, on hindsight, I should have made a little wider):

The back is a little lower than the front, so I won’t have to be too careful each time I bend over…
It’s a rather standard gothic/fantasy design and I sewed it together with my overlock machine, but it will do just fine!
Time spent: 8 hours
