Chemise

Up until now, I just wore modern shirts as undergarments under my Victorian costumes. But you’re actually supposed to wear a chemise (a long nightgown-like shirt) underneath. I decided to finally make one for an upcoming Victorian LARP event.

I must confess that I haven’t really done any research into it, so I don’t know if this model is authentically Victorian.

Time spent: 7 hours and 45 minutes (It took me quite a bit of trial and error to get the pattern for the sleeves right; I drew everything myself.)
Costs: €10,80 (Approximately 1,5 meters of fabric at €5,- (left over from a petticoat) and €3,30 for the openwork lace and ribbon. The lace along the neckline and sleeves comes from my stash.)
