Self-drawn trousers

By now I have finished all theory of the ‘Trousers’ module, the second part of my dressmaking course. So currently I am focusing on practicing actually sewing trousers. My very first pair of hand-drawn trousers is already finished!

The piece of fabric I used for it had been sitting in my closet for over two years. I had bought it to make a pair of trousers someday, but that didn’t happen initially, and later I realized that I’d better save the piece until I reached the trousers module, so that I could actually make something good out of it.

The fabric has a nice pattern, and as I am a sucker for pattern matching, of course I had to apply it on these pants. Look at how nicely the pattern continues in the pockets!

I made welt pockets on the back. I’m not really a big fan of welt pockets in general, and they are a pain to make, but precisely because of that, I needed the practice.

Costs: €6 (for 2 meters of fabric, of which I have a piece left over.)
Time spent: not tracked; I decided not to do that for everything I make for my studies.
